Tori Kelly To Sing National Anthem Prior To Sunday’s Phoenix International Raceway 500

Pop music sensation Tori Kelly will perform the national anthem prior to the start of the 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Phoenix International Raceway on Sunday, March 15, highlighting the pre-race festivities. Kelly’s performance will be included in the live national television broadcast of the race on FOX at 12:30 p.m. local time (3:30 p.m. Eastern).

Kelly first rose to attention when her cover of Frank Ocean’s “Thinkin Bout You,” went viral, racking up over 22 million views. To date, her YouTube channel boasts over one million YouTube Subscribers with over 90 million views. After recording a pair of EP’s – Handmade Songs, which she self-penned, produced, mixed and released, and Foreword – she plans to release her first full length debut later this year via Capitol Records. Dubbed an ‘Artist To Watch’ for 2015 by USA Today her debut single, Nobody Love is quickly climbing the charts at Top 40 Radio and available now.

While she has performed professionally in some of the most storied music venues in America and has sung The Star Spangled Banner at other professional sporting events, Sunday will mark the first time the young star has performed at a NASCAR event.

Two-time Olympian Dan Henderson will lead the field to green as the honorary pace car driver for Sunday’s race. The former UFC title holder will drive the official Toyota Camry Pace Car during the warm-up laps just prior to the start of the race. Henderson will also appear in the Budweiser ROLL-BAR and in the Trackside and Octane clubs prior to the race for Q&A sessions.

Jared Veldheer, the starting left tackle for the Arizona Cardinals, will serve as an honorary race official and will be on stage to greet each of the drivers as they are introduced. Veldheer will also conduct Q&A sessions in PIR’s Trackside and Octane clubs prior to the race.
