Jimmie Johnson favored to win Sunday’s Kobalt 400

Six-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson is favored to win Sunday’s Kobalt 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, according to odds posted by William Hill oddsmakers.

Johnson, a four-time winner of the Kobalt 400 at LVMS, is listed as a 7-1 favorite to once again hit the jackpot in Las Vegas. Kevin Harvick, who won last weekend’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race in Phoenix, and Matt Kenseth, a three-time Cup winner at LVMS and the defending Kobalt 400 winner, are next at 15-2. Reigning Daytona 500 champion Dale Earnhardt Jr. is listed at 8-1 to earn his first LVMS Cup victory.
Hometown drivers Kyle and Kurt Busch are listed at 10-1 and 20-1, respectively. Danica Patrick is on the board as a 200-1 long shot to earn her first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory.

NASCAR Weekend begins on Thursday, March 6 with a free test day for the Sprint Cup Series. The weekend continues Friday, March 7 with Stratosphere Pole Day featuring practices for both the Kobalt 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race and Boyd Gaming 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race as well as qualifying for the Kobalt 400. The Boyd Gaming 300 is set for Saturday, March 8 and the Kobalt 400 will run on Sunday, March 9. Two nights of dirt-track racing will take place at the Dirt Track on March 5 and 6 featuring the World of Outlaws.
