New Hampshire Motor Speedway Grandstand Seating Becomes Smoke-Free

From New Hampshire Motor Speedway

Several years ago, in an effort to protect the general public from the health risks of secondhand smoke, the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services set forth a law requiring restaurants and bars to become smoke-free. After overwhelming feedback from our guests and in an effort to more closely align with the current laws here and throughout the country, New Hampshire Motor Speedway is making its grandstand seating area smoke-free beginning with the 2013 race season.

This policy is certainly not new to sports and entertainment facilities, as outdoor concert venues, other NASCAR tracks, NFL and Major League Baseball stadiums such as Gillette Stadium and Fenway Park have had non-smoking policies in place for several years. But unlike other sports venues, smoking will still be permitted in designated concourse areas, parking lots, campgrounds, as well as souvenir, display and hospitality areas.

The safety of our fans always comes first, thus this policy will decrease secondhand smoke exposure throughout our grandstands, yet still gives our fans the freedom to smoke anywhere else throughout our facility. It’s our goal to give every guest the very best experience possible without contravening the experience of others.

If you have any further questions about the implementation of this policy, please give us a call at 603-783-4931.  We would like to thank you for your cooperation in keeping our grandstand seating areas smoke-free and look forward to providing you a wonderful experience here at the Magic Mile!
