The NASCAR Nationwide Series concludes the two-day racing weekend in Kentucky with a 300-mile race around the Kentucky Speedway Saturday evening.

This is the inaugural Kentucky 300 at the Kentucky Speedway. This is the first season where the Kentucky Speedway has been granted a second NASCAR Nationwide Series.

The NASCAR Nationwide Series has raced at the Kentucky Speedway since the 2001 season, Joey Logano has won three times at the speedway which is the most of anybody; he won back-to-back-to-back races from 2008 to 2010.

Three months ago, the speedway hosted the Feed the Children 300, Austin Dillon raced to his first career victory in the Nationwide series by leading 192 laps of 200.

Two practices were held on Friday; Austin Dillon was quickest in the first practice and Brendan Gaughan was fastest in the second and final practice. Qualifying will be held at 12:35 p.m. EDT time this afternoon.

ESPN will come on-air at 3:30 p.m. EDT with the green flag scheduled to be waved at 4:15 p.m. EDT — there is a full slate of college football games today on the ESPN networks, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the pre-race show gets relocated on another ESPN network. We will keep you posted.
