It is one of those rare Sunday afternoons where the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is off — their final off weekend of the year, but we still have racing this afternoon as the Triple-A of NASCAR takes its place.
It is very hot in Chicago this weekend with thunderstorms wandering around the track, but what else would you expect in Illinois during the summer, I’m just glad I’m not there.
Kyle Busch was fastest in the first practice Saturday afternoon, but he is pretty much fast at every race track on the circuit. Parker Kligerman, who is a regular in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series was fastest in the final practice for today’s 300 mile race — Kligerman is driving for Roger Penske this weekend.
Qualifying will be held early Sunday morning to determine the starting lineup.
ESPN will have the call on television this afternoon and they will come on air at 3:00 PM EST, MRN will have the call on radio.
Everybody enjoy the race and be sure to check back here at RowdySpeedway for post race updates and stories, thanks to everybody that stopped by the site this weekend and I hope you enjoyed the content.

Well done blog Evan. I look forward to the updates every week, especially the Nationwide info as I’m in the Alliance Fantasy League.
Thanks,
